About Dye-Free

Hi, we’re Dye-Free

Dye-Free (dye-free.com/) is an independent guide for parents and caregivers who want a quick, clear answer to one question: does this contain artificial dyes?

We focus on the products kids use most: children’s medicines, vitamins and gummies, and everyday snacks. Our goal is to make the label easy to read, so you can make the choice that is right for your family.

What we do

  • Explain where synthetic colors tend to show up and what they are called on labels.
  • Check current ingredient labels and record the date and source of every check.
  • Track federal and state rules about food dyes, with links to the original sources.
  • Share practical ideas for dye-free snacks, parties, and school days.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t give medical advice or diagnose anything. We don’t claim that dyes cause any particular condition.
  • We don’t tell anyone to stop, change, or skip a medicine. That conversation belongs with your pharmacist or doctor.
  • We don’t sell ratings. Brands can’t pay to change what we report.
  • We don’t try to scare you. Color additives used in the US are regulated by the FDA, and many families simply prefer to limit synthetic ones. We help you do that calmly.

How we make money

Dye-Free is free to read. We may earn a commission when you buy through some links on the site (for example Amazon, Thrive Market, or Instacart). In the future we may also offer clearly labeled sponsorships or an optional membership. None of this affects how we describe an ingredient list. Read our affiliate disclosure and how we rate.
